Anne Frank House

Walk through the secret annex where Anne Frank wrote her famous diary.

About Anne Frank House

The Anne Frank House is one of the most visited and emotionally powerful museums in the world. It is the building where Anne Frank, her family, and four others hid from Nazi persecution for over two years. Anne wrote her now-famous diary here before the group was discovered and deported in August 1944.

What to Expect

  • The original secret annex with the famous concealed bookcase entrance
  • Anne’s actual diary on display
  • Testimonial films featuring Otto Frank (the only survivor)
  • Context on the persecution of Jews in Nazi-occupied Amsterdam

Important

Tickets must be booked in advance — the museum sells out weeks ahead. Walk-up tickets are almost never available. Photography inside is not permitted.

Tips for Visiting

  • Book tickets weeks in advance — this is Amsterdam’s most sold-out attraction
  • Evening slots (after 18:00) are often easier to book and less crowded
  • The Jordaan neighbourhood around the museum is wonderful to explore after your visit
  • Read or watch the diary before visiting for a deeper experience
