About Keukenhof Gardens
Keukenhof is the world’s largest flower garden. Every year from late March to mid-May, over 7 million bulbs burst into bloom across 79 acres — creating a floral spectacle so extraordinary that it regularly features among the world’s most photographed places.
What’s Inside
- 800+ varieties of tulips in every colour
- Daffodils, hyacinths, and other spring bulbs
- Themed pavilions and floral art installations
- A windmill with views over the surrounding bulb fields
- Boat trips through the tulip fields (separate ticket)
Getting There
The easiest option is a pre-booked day trip from Amsterdam. Alternatively, take the direct bus (line 858) from Schiphol Airport or Leiden Centraal — journey time 30–40 minutes.
Tips for Visiting
- Visit in the first two weeks of April for peak bloom
- Book tickets online to avoid queues at the entrance gate
- Arrive early (08:00) to beat the midday crowds
- The surrounding fields outside Keukenhof are equally stunning and free to view from the roadside
